Why service?
In the midst of this class you will discover, hopefully, why service is an essential component of the Christian gospel message. It just occurred to me that this could make a great final exam question (OK Dean...let's not worry the students about such matters too early in the course and besides I usually give students the final exam essay questions in advance).
I wanted to try something new this semester. Too often I am the only one reading journal entries related to what students experience and discover at their service learning sites. Sometimes I wish I could share student ideas with others and broaden the conversation for shared learning. I am going to try a blog format to assist the class in doing just that. This is a bit experimental and student comments will always be welcome in trying to make this learning tool more friendly.
